July 23, 2010 - NOTE ON PROCEDURE
If you download the Special Sale order form, you will get an error message from the Acrobat application.
This is an artifact from something that I cannot trace. It does not affect the form. Once the dust has settled on ACROSS THE PACIFIC, I have promised myself and the computers that there will be an upgrade and reconfiguration.
That is just something that cannot happen in the middle of a project.

I am back from Arid-zona and the 110-degree pleasantness. ['It's a DRY heat']
Those of you who were at ConsimWorld Expo on Friday or Saturday will know that the production map for AtP was there and looked splendid.
The sample box arrived Friday. The only small problem is that, for some reason, the box and the proof that was approved for printing differ just slightly
There is no game title, designer's credit, or PRP logo on the front of the box.
It is to frown.
The box maker and I are playing telephone tag, but should discuss this situation today now that I am no longer a mobile target.
The counters are still scheduled to be completed at the die-cutter on the 15th.
I did not pick up the maps, but they are done -- as Alan Emrich noted.
It was pleasing to see how easily the AtP production map back-folded and lay flat without any noticeable creasing. This gives proof-of-concept to the idea of using a 1-piece 36 x 48 inch [90 x 120 cm to our metric-minded brethern] map for WELLINGTON'S WAR and a couple other designs further down the pike.
Funny thing about printers, they have come to believe that glossy equals quality. It was a lot of effort to persuade them that the map should not be on thick, glossy, crease-remembering stock, just as it took a fair discussion to explain to the counter sheet printer that a matte overcoat was needed. Both map and counters should be non-reflective for use without glare late at night under incandescent light.
It slowly becomes clear that clarity comes slowly.
